Broadway Limited announces Exclusive Run Program aimed at dealers, distributors

April 10, 2017

News

ORMOND BEACH, FL – Broadway Limited Imports, LLC, announced today its 2017 Exclusive Run Program which allows both distributors and dealers of BLI products to build new products
with the Broadway Limited Imports brand that will be available exclusively through them.

Throughout the years, BLI has collaborated numerous times with distributors and dealers on exclusive runs of BLI products. The company said because demand for collaboration has increased it will make the opportunity formally available for resellers.

The program is open for production of both existing and newly tooled prototypes including locomotives and rolling stock in HO and N scales. All locomotives will be outfitted with BLI’s latest Paragon3 with Rolling Thunder technology. All products will carry BLI’s standard warranty and support.

BLI will begin accepting exclusive run agreements May 1 on a first come, first-served basis. Exclusivity lasts for one year from the date of initial delivery and may be renewed.

“We’re excited to formally offer our retail partners this opportunity to build exclusive BLI branded products,” said Bob Grubba, president of Broadway Limited Imports. “We’ve had great success throughout the years running exclusives for both distributors and dealers and we anticipate with the introduction of our new program that we’ll see some new prototypes that the hobby might not otherwise see. We look forward to working closely with our resellers to build exciting new products for the hobby.”

Calling Card

There’s no shortage of history on the Murphy Branch, one of the most compelling stories of the Southern Railway’s system in the Southeast U.S. Historians speak of the perseverance and dedication of the men who built the 111 miles through the mountains and along rivers in Western Carolina. Passenger business flourished by the turn of the 20th century with four daily trains between Asheville and Murphy, NC. Today the only passengers who ride the former line are on a 63-mile stretch from Dillsboro to the Nantahala Gorge, considered the most scenic on the Murphy Branch. Bryson City lies between them. The whistles, horns and bells echoing through the valley are from the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, operated by American Heritage Railways. The train has become Bryson City’s calling card.

To the Trains

Trainz.com has parlayed new and used model trains into a big business north of Atlanta, GA. In March, Trainz opened a 73,000-square-foot warehouse in Flowery Branch and much of the shelf space is already consumed.

Slowing Pace?

Readers who participated in the Cowcatcher's annual State of Model Railroading survey in November indicate the hobby remains in good shape, but its value appears to be slipping amid a changing landscape that is pushing prices higher.
